Ingrid Verhoolen

I would like to acquaint you with beautiful quilts by Ingrid Verhoolen. She lives in Switzerland near Zürich, was a chemist by profession and has started in 1980 to deal with patchwork and quilting. Ingrid Verhoolen took classes with renowned textile artists/teachers(u.a. Dorle Stern-Straeter, Caryl Bryer Fallert, Ursula Kern, Libby Lehmann, Sylvia Einstein and others). In particular she is interested now in the dyeing of fabrics (not surprising as a chemist). She has its own procedure, which produces Shibori-like effects. In modern times, the embroidery has a strong presence in her activities, so you can say for about three years she has decidated almost entirely to the modern embroidery. At even dyed fabrics now produce stories, unique and expressive.
Ingrid Verhoolen is among other things Member of the Swiss Quiltergilde. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland, Germany and France
